Fall Festivals are coming-Start planning here.
August 17, 2017 • Fall, Festivals, Out & About
I love a good Fall Festival. The cooler air, the smell of roasted popcorn or bbq cooking, seeing friends and embracing the small town charm of a festival.
So, grab your favorite fall scarf and adorable boots(I can't wait to wear again) and lets get out there.

Pumpkin Monogram DIY!
September 9, 2015 • Crafty, Create and Craft, Fall, Halloween
Seems as summer is really leaving us, and I am kinda happy about that.
I love Fall time.
I love football games with a chill in the air and the smell of a fire pit in my yard, I love the cute
boots that pop up in every shop in town, but I really love the cooler weather the most.
With the cooler weather coming, I needed to make something to decorate my porch.
I am sure you have seen these Monogrammed Pumpkins everywhere and yes, you can buy them,
but where is the fun in doing that.
I like to make what I can, it just means more to me.
Let's get started on cutting out a monogram on a foam pumpkin
Supplies
Foam pumpkin what ever size you choose
Hot Knife available at Michael's
Monogram template
Brown paint and dry paper towel
Tape the monogram to the pumpkin and make sure that it is very secure.
Before taping try and find the best side and make sure the pumpkin sits flat.

Using the hot knife, cut around the monogram.
CAUTION: This knife is called a HOT Knife for a reason, it gets very HOT and the blade is very sharp! BE CAREFUL!
Cut around entire monogram and you can see the letter on your pumpkin
At this point you will need to go back over the cuts and peel away the pumpkin to reveal your letter.
How cute is this M?
Since these pumpkins are kinda boring I added brown paint to the pumpkin to add a little depth
Just brush paint on and wipe off with a dry towel
Do not use real candles in these types of pumpkins.
Instead use the battery operated tea light candles
Cut a small opening in the back of the pumpkin to put the candle thru.
And now just put on your porch or in your home and enjoy!
This is an easy project and so many options to decorate.
Happy Fall Ya'll!
Fall Decor
October 21, 2013 • Chevron, decorating, DIY, Fall, thrifting
I wanted to share with you, my Fall decor and the drink cart it is based on. Recently, I was down in my Dads building, you know where he keeps everything that Dads need, lawn mowers, tools, saws, old things that I have no idea what they are. But on this day, I was looking for a piece of wood, he told me to look in the back of the building and he had a piece.
As I lifted the wood though I saw this baby, a rolling cart. It was dirty and had like 10 pieces of wood on it. When I saw the cart, I forgot about the wood I need, my only thought was to get the cart out of the shed. Here it is now in our kitchen. I decided not to paint it, I learned it was my Grandmas and I loved the character of the scratches and dings.

Decorating is the fun part with everything, I think. So here's a rundown of what got the honor of being placed on my beautiful cart.
Lets start with this lamp that I found at Dollar General for $10, love it.
Next,is my silver Dollar store tray that I gave a coat of chalkboard paint.
The green scale I have had forever, it was bought at a yard sale years ago for cheap. The little green topiary tree was from a friends wedding as a party favor. And the ceramic pumpkin was from my Mother In Law.
On top of the scale is the cutest spider basket that came from the Dollar store.
In the basket are plastic fruits from once again, the Dollar Store and I threw my little box of Lilly cookies in just for fun. These are not to be eaten or else!!
These bowls were my Grandma's also and they mean the world to me. I use them all the time, and think of her and miss her so much.
The basket I also bought at a yard sale for a buck, when the seller told me a buck I was like, OK!!
They hold some of my cookbooks, I have a ton of them.
And that concludes the tour of my Drink Cart/Fall Cart. Hope you enjoyed!!
Happy Fall Ya'll!!
Daydreams of Fall
September 1, 2013 • Fall, Travel
With these cooler temps in the air, my mind starts drifting to other things. Like the following.
Lake Lure, NC
I think this place is one on the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The Mountains in the background and the water is the great Fall trip for me. I like to take the Cruise on the Lake and relax while someone else drives.
As we go thru my day dreams I also see visions of this,
Hay rides, pumpkin gathering and apple cider. To look for the perfect pumpkin while cool air blows is the perfect day.
The next part of my daydream happens right in my front yard. It is a bonfire. We built a nice fire pit many years ago and use it all the time, in the cooler months.
Our house is in the country so having an open blazing flame is not a violation of HOA rules. We start up the fire, break out smores and even drink a few beers(or 12).
So, not matter where your daydream takes you, embrace it. I am certainly going to try.
Happy Almost Fall Ya;ll!!
